Randolph Campus

Located in rural Randolph, N.Y., Randolph Academy traces its roots back to the 1860s. In 1985, New York State’s Legislature made Randolph Academy UFSD a K-12 public school district, providing educational services for up to 100 students, including residential students served by our New Directions Youth and Family Services partner, as well as day students from across Western New York’s Southern Tier.

The campus is nestled on 100 acres of land, including a new outdoor playground and zip line, gardens, picnic pavilions, a basketball court, and countless areas of open grass for games, sports, and outdoor learning activities.

Melissa Galante, Principal

Meet The Principal

I have served the students and staff at Randolph Academy for fourteen years as a Special Education teacher and a Union officer. I am proud to call Randolph my home and I do my best to create a culture of caring and belonging which supports our Normative Culture. I earned my Advanced Certificate in Educational Leadership through SUNY Fredonia, and I continue to learn from my experiences in my role as Principal of Randolph Campus.

As a teacher, I was often sought out by my colleagues for answers, advice and guidance on how to adapt their lesson plans to meet students' needs and harness the strengths they bring to the classroom as unique individuals. I hope to have a broader impact on Faculty & Staff through delivering meaningful feedback that defines a true Instructional Leader.

My goal is to promote a physically and emotionally safe environment where students believe in the power of growth mindset and can persevere throughout life's difficult circumstances. In addition, by teaching resilience, students can flourish and reach their potential.

I think my life goal is to simply make others feel better in my company.  A leader that can resonate calmness, patience and love can bring out the best in everyone they interact with.

Vision:
"Support and empower people to think globally and find innovative solutions to problems in order to improve the quality of life for all human beings."

Mission:
"My mission is to provide a meaningful and appropriate education that harnesses the strengths and passions of students while meeting their diverse needs."

"Children become what they are told they are."
