Data Privacy and Security
The Board of Regents adopted Part 121 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education on January 13, 2020. These rules will implement Education Law Section 2-d and provide guidance to educational agencies and their third-party contractors on ways to strengthen data privacy and security to protect student data and annual professional performance review data. The Regulations are overseen by NYSED’s Chief Privacy Officer, Temitope Akinyemi. These Regulations govern the use of student Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in regards to third-party software vendors and platforms.

FERPA Policy: FERPA
FERPA Notifice
Randolph Academy UFSD is required to annually notify parents of their rights under FERPA. That information can be found in our FERPA policy (see above). The district may identify certain data elements as Directory Information, which may be disclosed without obtaining prior parental consent. If you do not want the District to disclose directory information without your prior written consent, you must notify the District in writing by September 30th for the current school year. This notice must be sent to your child’s school on a yearly basis.
